Statement
I am a fan of the Sanrio character Gudetama who’s a lazy, sad egg. I collect all sorts of Gudetama items. I got a book of stickers and one said, “No waistline, no problem”. As a person who lives in a larger body, I’ve struggled with body acceptance most of my life. I loved that this round little character was saying what I wanted to say. My body may not be the social norm of beauty but who cares. It’s not because I’m lazy or dumb which is what a lot of people think when they see someone in a larger body. My body is fine the way it is so I have this cute little character and saying to remind me.
