Peacock: In Flight

Peacock: In Flight
Patriarchal violence and Abrahamic religions eradicate the way that women live, earn, express, grow, reproduce (or NOT), move, succeed, fail, embody their skin, and worship in our most authentic and ancient ways. Studying the reclamation of feminine powers and perceptions of our bodies through an egalitarian and ancestorial lens has been a professional and personal devotion where I view peacocks and peahens as symbols for reframing how misogyny impacted the ways I navigate this Earth in my skin. Much like a peacock’s unique abilities to consume harmful creatures and plants, I process being force-fed anti-female venom as a traumatically poisonous, but endurable, event that I (and other women) can withstand and recover from with radiance, beauty, and goddess-like reclamation.
