An Ode to Life

This tattoo is a continuation of my sleeve. I think of my body as a gallery or storybook, displaying different turning points and realizations of my life. This continuation of my arm was continued in the midst of the pandemic, 2021, as the world began to open back up. Coming out of lockdown and captivity living in NY at the time, I grew a deep appreciation of nature. The interconnectivity of nature, animals and people in a spiritual system and my appreciation for it. In addition, the two sunflowers represent my two matriarchs who I lost within the same year, 2019 (Great Grandmother and Grandmother (both mother and daughter)). Not only were sunflowers a particular favorite but they represent the light that guides me through and along a path of growth, love and abundance. Because of them, I am.
