Duality

This tattoo is near and dear to me and is one of my most recently added pieces to the gallery of my body. Earlier this year, I spent the month of July in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. It was an incredible adventure on my exploration of life and journey to explore what is the key to my own liberation. I could go on and on about the experience, knowledge gained and ways I strengthen my relationship with self. The trip was so impactful, I wanted to commemorate it with a tattoo. I came across a local ad from a stick and poke artist in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica and managed to schedule an appointment despite the language barrier. This tattoo in summary represents duality of life, and the interdependence of owning and balancing the light and the dark, the sunrise and sunset. The process in which the tattoo is performed deepens the affirmation of the intention behind the tattoo. So grateful for her service, and her gift and grateful to have marked this milestone in my life's journey.
